PROHIBITION OF ENTRY INTO NATIONAL TERRITORY:
As of the 16th of March 2020, the government of the Argentine Republic has issued a prohibition of entry into national territory through PORTS, AIRPORTS, INTERNATIONAL CROSSINGS, BORDER CENTERS and any other access point, for a period of FIFTEEN (15) calendar days to foreign persons not residents of the country. (Decree 274/2020, ARTICLE 1.)
As of the 14th of March 2020, the government of the Argentine Republic has issued a prohibition of entry into the country for a period of THIRTY (30) days to foreign non-residents who have transited through “affected areas” in the FOURTEEN (14) days prior to their arrival. (Resolution 567/2020, ARTICLE 1)
VISA ISSUANCE:
Please note that as of March 11th 2020, the issuance of Temporary and Transitory Visas and Electronic travel authorization (AVE) to the Republic of Argentina for nationals or travelers coming from the following affected areas have been suspended until further notice:
- European Union
- People’s Republic of China
- Schengen Region
- South Korea
- Islamic Republic of Iran
- Japan
- United States of America
- United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland
SUSPENSION OF FLIGHTS:
Please also note that, as of March 12th, international passenger flights departing from the following affeected areas have also been suspended:
- European Union
- Schengen Region
- People’s Republic of China
- South Korea
- Islamic Republic of Iran
- Japan
- United States of America
- United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland
QUARANTINE MEASURES:
Furthermore, those foreigners who have arrived 14 days prior to March 12th or after, having embarked/transited for the above mentioned risks zones, will have to comply with a 14-day mandatory quarantine, subject to sanctions.
These border control measures are temporary in nature and have been implemented according to Argentinian decree in response to the developing pandemic conditions internationally and in the Republic of Argentina.
